Koffee Becomes The Youngest Reggae Artiste To Win A Grammy

Koffee beats Julian Marley, Steel Pulse, Thirld World, Sly Robbie & Roots Radic to win Best Reggae Album category.


Mikayla Simpson (born 16 February 2000), best known as Koffee, is a Jamaican reggae singer, songwriter, rapper, deejay and guitarist from Spanish Town, Jamaica.


She released her debut single, “Toast”, in 2018, and also signed with Columbia Records UK. Her debut EP “Rapture” was released on March 14, 2019. The “Rapture” track was a sensation as it became a game-changer for her in the industry.

The 19 year- old has had quite an impressive run since her journey in music, Some of her notable singles include; Legend, Burning, Raggamuffin, Toast, Blazin, Throne, Rapture, Rapture Rmx featuring Govana.


In light of her appearances, Koffee also performed alongside the legendary Mase and other recognizable artists at the 2019 Rhythm Unplugged concert in commemoration of I5 years of Flytime Music Festival held in Lagos, Nigeria.

At the recently held 62nd annual Grammy Awards see the list here, Koffee bagged the award for Best Reggae Album, in a category with nominees such as Julian Marley, Steel Pulse, Third World, and Sly Robbie&Roots Radics, making her the youngest person and only woman to be awarded in the Best Reggae Album category.
