So we woke up to the news that Big Brother Naija 2019 housemate, Tacha is about to start a reality TV show.
The show, titled Keeping Up With Tacha (KUWT) will have its first episode out this month and it would be themed after the Valentines Day.
Not a bad development, but if we need to make a few things clear before we proceed.
WHAT IS THE DIRECTION OF THE SHOW?
First off, the reeks of Keeping Up With The Kardashians (KUWTK) – I mean, look at the name!
Tacha has only been out of the Big Brother House for a few months and many of us who are not her stans are yet to understand what her brand is about and what are we keeping up with?
Fashion? I’m not sure she is grounded enough to have a series about something a lot of people don’t know about
Lifestyle? This could work because she already has a lifestyle which she has been portraying since her stint in the Big Brother house. A lifestyle that fetched her millions of followers and tonnes of groups on social media where religious fans strategize how to push the Tacha brand (and pro bono too). I know this because I have a couple of friends who belong to these groups. So yeah, a Tacha’s lifestyle based show might work if executed properly.
Businesses? The KUWTK franchise is built around the lifestyle and successful businesses of the Kardashian girls. So what businesses of Tacha’s are we getting that oomph from?
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST
Starting a show is nice but sustaining it better.
TV shows are all about content. So if Tacha’s team isn’t top notch with their content strategy, it would mean an early death for the show.
One final questions, are millions of people ready to lose their time to Keep Up With Tacha?
Anyways, we can’t tell how Keeping Up With Tacha (KUWT) will perform, but we can say congratulations Tacha.
