Burna Boy Loses To Tyler The Creator At BRIT Awards

BurnaBoy attended the 40th edition of BRIT Awards but lost to Tyler The Creator.


The 40th edition of the BRIT Awards was held on 19 February 2020 at the O2 Arena in London. Hosted by Jack Whitehall, the nominations were made public on Saturday, January 11, 2020 and announced by Alice Levine on ITV Broadcast.

It was earlier revealed that the African Giant, Burna Boy was nominated for Best International Male Artist at the BRIT Awards 2020 alongside Americans, Bruce Springsteen, Dermot Kennedy, Tyler The Creator and Post Malone.

The Nigerian superstar, Burna Boy lost the Best Male International at BRIT Award 2020 to Grammy-winning American rapper, Tyler The Creator.

The Nominations were led by British rapper of Nigerian descent, Dave and singer, Lewis Capaldi. Other top winners on the night were. Lewis Capaldi, Stormzy, Billie Eilish and Santan Dave, British-born rapper of Nigerian descent who took home the award for Album of The Year.

This BRIT Award loss follows Burna’s Grammy nomination for his critically-acclaimed album, African Giant. BurnaBoy also performed songs like Stormzy’s own It and his anthemic record “Anybody” off his album.
