Is Tope Alabi A Marlian?

The internet went crazy when the clip of a top gospel musician Tope Alabi dropped a few days ago. The question on everybody’s lips is ‘is she a Marlian?’.

Tope Alabi has a career in gospel music that spans decades and like every other artist, she has had the controversies that come with fame. As with every career especially music, she peaked and was soon left behind first for other ingenious artists and then later for new school gospel artists. She did cross over to Nollywood and for a period of time made a large percentage of the theme song for all the Yoruba movies.

She resurfaced when a song she did with TY bello, a photographer and gospel musician went viral on the internet in 2019. The song was all over the place and soon she was back in the game like she never left. She performed at op churches and major Christian gatherings. She also dropped other tracks that rode on the back of the first to become hits.

In the Video in question, permit me to say she rather looked like any woman on the street who had been exposed or rather predisposed to a perverse way of life. She danced the popular ZANKU dance. A dance that has found it’s way all over the world, even to churches. She ‘carried her body’ and did the popular ‘gbese’ moves.

In her defense though, she was at a gospel concert, singing Christian songs and dancing to her God.

Here are some of the comments on the video from Twitter
The real sociologist says
