Rita Dominic says a lot of people believe if you don’t post your wealth on social media then you are not balling.
The award-winning actress made this known via her Instagram stories on Wednesday 19, 2020. According to her, a lot of people believe social media has become the yardstick to measure wealth.
“So social media has become the yardstick to measure wealth? Lol. Some people think because you don’t post certain things like designer labels, holidays, how much you have, etc on your means you are not balling? Wow. Poverty mentality much? Happiness or balling in your word means different things to different people. This life isn’t that serious, be happy you are alive and healthy first and foremost #Selah,” she wrote.
The actress further buttressed her point by quoting a tweet by another Nollywood actress, Shan George.
Shan George had tweeted: “Show off of ur position, wealth, degrees, awards, silverspoons, and Royalty, does not earn u respect, Respecting urself, and treating people fairly does. Solomon isn’t named d wisest man on earth just bcos he was a king. It’s his fairness in judgement that earned him d title.”
A few weeks ago, Tonto Dikeh in a similar vein had advised fans to not be influenced by the lifestyles of celebrities they see on social media.
The actress made this known via her Instagram page on Wednesday, February 5, 2020. According to her, people should not be deceived into thinking it’s that easy as it looks on social media.
Other celebrities like Joke Silva and Funke Akindele have at one time or the other shared the same sentiment about the misconception a lot of people have about the lifestyle they see on and off social media.
