One of Nollywood’s veteran actors, Patience Oseni has passed away.
Her death was announced by another Nollywood actress, Ejiro Okurame via her Instagram page on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.
Okurame shared a photo of the late actress with the caption reading:
“You fought a good fight 😥😥 God bless your soul as you meet with your Creator😫😥 Rest in Peace Legendary MA Patience Oseni,” she wrote.
The actress is said to have passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
Originally from Ogun state, she started her acting career in 1995 when she first starred in the movie ‘Deadly Passion.’ Patience Oseni rose to prominence in Nollywood back in the late 1990s with the legendary interpretation of her role in the movie ‘End Of The Wicked.’
The actress threw subtlety to the wind as a witch in the Helen Ukpabio movie, “End of the Wicked.” (how many of you remember this movie?)
No on-screen or even off-screen villainous act beats a mother-in-law growing a penis with which she rapes her daughter-in-law.
She later went on to star in other movies including ‘Heat Of The Moment,’ the very popular Super Story (Series) and a host of other movies.
The news of Oseni’s death was confirmed by the National President of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Ejezie Emeka Rollas and the daughter of the deceased, Augusta Akomolafe.
She’s not the first Nollywood star to kick the bucket this year.
On Thursday, January 2, 2020, fast-rising Nollywood actress, Jennifer Omole, has passed on.
She died in Spain and was buried on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Villarejo de Salvanes, Madrid. She was 33.
Also in January, Yoruba actor, Toyosi Arigbabuwo, reportedly died on Monday, January 13, 2020 after severe battle with undisclosed ailment.
He was said to have died at his residence at Ile-Alli area, along the Apete-Arola Road in Ibadan, the Oyo State.
