See My Life After Leaving My Billionaire Husband – Dabota Lawson

The ex-beauty queen shows gratitude for how well she has turned out after her divorce

Former beauty queen Dabota Lawson gives a recount of how she was mocked after her marriage to billionaire husband, Sunny Aku crashed.

Lawson was married to billionaire businessman, Aku for about two years before they got divorced.

In an Instagram post, the former beauty queen recalls how she was mocked for not taking anything out of the marriage.

“#tbt 5 years ago this was all I had as a business . This little spot under/near the stair case of a mall that so many people used to mock me because to them i just left a billionaire and had nothing to show for it 😂😂 How time flies. Such a humbling period in my life. A real down time . I don’t need to go into details of where I am today so I don’t get carried away and maybe seem boastful ( you already know 😝) . A reminder that no matter how tough it gets , it can get better . Cheers to getting better and doing better. Lots of love to those who have constantly stood by me . God bless you . #5yearsstrong #halfadecadeofbusiness”

Lawson was a beauty queen who became popular after she took part in Nigeria’s Top Model contest in 2007.

She went ahead to contest and won Miss Nigeria beauty UK pageant in 2009.

She wedded billionaire Aku in a lavish wedding in Lagos which was held at the Sky Terrance Hall.

Reports of marital issues began to filter the air barely one year after their marriage as claims of infidelity starting making the rounds.

When it became news, Lawson deleted her husband’s photos from her Instagram account. She also deleted photos she took in their home too.

According to reports Sunny Aku kicked the former beauty queen from his home when he heard she was allegedly cheating on him.

The couple later came out to dispel the report by posting a video on Instagram.

In an Instagram post she put up in November 2018, she talked about how getting married to Aku was her biggest regret in life.

She wrote:

“This weekend I spent a lot of time thinking and talking about past events in my life. My friends kept saying Dabota everything happens for a reason and you are who you are today because of all that has happened. But I said to them and myself NO!! I’m not soooo thankful, I wish I made better decisions and was careful before getting involved with certain things and certain people. I wish I could see the future of how some of my poor decisions will stay hunting me because they actually do    Every time I win or do better it’s because I chose to and I took a right turn, not always because I’ve learned a lesson.

“The only thing I know is my mind and heart is just stronger, too strong for my own good, I’m almost not in touch with reality and strictly focused on pursuing goals and making sure everyone and everything around me is fine.  I miss being carefree and the softness and innocence I used to have. I hate the fact that I have major trust issue and assume everyone has an ulterior motive around me. I mostly regret ever getting married in 2014 ( please keep all that lessons and whatever you think I got from it talk ) I hate the fact that I did !PERIOD!”

“The only I did right that keeps me going was making the decisions to go through with my pregnancy and have my child. My daughter is only thing I’ve done right in the world over 25 years of my life. That’s how I feel.  Be careful the decisions you make in life. This is a very stern warning, everything you do has a consequence that only you will experience in way only you can understand. BE VERY CAREFUL! HAVE A GREAT WEEK !” .

She filed for divorce from Aku in 2016 and gave birth to their daughter not long after.
