Nigerian broadcaster and radio talk show host, Ifedayo Olarinde popularly known as Daddy Freeze, has announced his exit from Cool Fm radio station. Having worked for the station as a senior broadcaster for 20 years, Daddy freeze as he is fondly called think its time to move on.
Freeze started his radio career in 1996 with the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS), Ibadan and joined Cool FM in 2001 working in radio presenting, television and general entertainment.
An event compere, Freeze has hosted a number of music concerts, comedy shows, and Nollywood premiere both locally and beyond including; Nigeria, Ghana and the United Kingdom.
Aside from his media gigs and budding career, Freeze’s notoriety bloomed over his constant challenges of religious ideals and more for his recent FreeThesheeple movement. The movement is a haven where he shares and teaches on Christianity.
He made the announcement via his Instagram page as he wrote thus;
“I’m leaving Coolfm…Hi guys, after 20 years on @coolfmlagos the time has come to say goodbye.
Would miss you all… BIG announcement coming soon”
Freeze has been nominated for many awards and has won several in media, tv and his most recent 2014 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards – Favourite Nigerian On-Air Personality.
