In June 2017, Dbanj and his wife Lineo welcomed their first child and son together and in May 2018 their son drowned in a swimming pool at the singer’s home in Lagos.
The couple welcomed their second child late last year and as a way of recounting his experience and inspiring Nigerians over these trying times, Dbanj took to his Instagram to encourage with a post.
The veteran revealed that since the demise of his son, he has not slept in his room due to the trauma. He expressed that his family has been through a lot and the memories are still very much fresh. However, he woke up grateful for knowing that he can be a beacon of hope to every Nigerian facing a hard time.
With this post, Dbanj hoped to enact some kind of motivation for his fans and followers, letting them know that there’s been hard days and times but things will always change.
His post comes as a result of the recent increase in Covid-19 cases confirmed in the country in the past few days, and the government directive for a lockdown.
He wrote: “For the first time in 21 months I slept in my room. I thought it would be easier but the memories are so fresh and although my family and I have been through so much this time, I woke up this morning with a grateful heart knowing that I can be a source of visible hope to anyone going through a hard time during this pandemic or any personal issue…Just know that tomorrow can be better and you can turn your pain into motivation. Stay strong
