As the chaos of the Coronavirus pandemic disrupts the flow of things in the country, celebrities are taking turns on their social media to call the government on their shortcomings. A few days ago, the stark reality of poor health care systems and infrastructures became obvious as Nigeria recorded an increase in confirmed cases.
Nigerian multi-time award-winning singer Paul Okoye aka Rudeboy has come out to air his opinions on what follows when the outbreak blows over. According to him, the challenge rests on Africans and in this case, Nigerians especially to sit up and demand change.
For many that have come to see what great evil lies in our systems which is the doings of bad governance, the lockdown has incapacitated everybody and flattened the curve. Therefore, the responsibility for fixing up is bigger than ever. Hence, if there is no change after the coronavirus pandemic then we can as well regard ourselves as fools.
This he shared on his Instagram page where he implored Africans to take these things seriously.
He wrote: “Dear Africans if nothing changes after this coronavirus pandemic… Then we are all fools.”
In another video, Paul lamented over the state of affairs in the country, saying that our leaders do not regard or rate us, hence the denial they leave us in. The singer expressed his disappointment in the government but more on Nigerians because we allowed for it to happen and we are the cause of our problems as he puts it.
