EPL: COVID-19 not big deal for healthy footballers, says Lehmann

Arsenal football club legend, Jens Lehmann, has stated that professional footballers have no issues with contacting Coronavirus.
According to Lehmann, footballers’ fit lifestyles mean they don’t get to show adverse symptoms of the disease.
Lehmann, who recently made a full recovery from Covid-19 himself, urged players to get back on the pitch as the Premier League authorities are set to start football activities next month.
CANDIIDONLINE reports that Lehmann’s comments are coming after the UK Government gave the Premier League the green light to return at the start of June.
UK government and the Premier League are however operating behind closed doors to lay down strict rules to prevent the spread of Coronavirus among players.
“In the end, you have to live with it, because the only thing that this Iockdown is based on is the hope that eventually we are going to find a vaccine or some medicine which cures it. But there’s only hope.
“So far we don’t have anything. Because of that, you cannot shut down everything. You have to get on with it. As long as the symptoms are not that bad, I think players have to cope with it.
‘We have plenty of players who were actually infected and most of them did not even show any symptoms. I think for young healthy people with a strong immune system it’s not such a big concern.” he told belN Sports.
