I will expose corruption in Nigerian Football – Ideye

Former Super Eagles player, Brown Ideye has threatened to reveal the corruption in the Nigerian Football scene before his retirement.

CANDIIDONLINE reports that Brown Ideye was part of the Nigerian team that won AFCON 2013. He has also played a key role in helping the Super Eagles qualify for the World Cup in 2014

Ideye who was also dropped from the team that went to the 2014 World Cup has vowed to let everything out by exposing corruption in Nigerian football.

In the wake of emerging allegations as regards alleged corruption in the Nigerian football circle by Chinedu Obasi and several others, Super Eagles star Brown Ideye has vowed to expose the level of the trend soon.

Ideye who plays for Aris Thessaloniki of Greek was instrumental in the Nigerian team that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations under the tutelage of the now late Stephen Keshi.

Ideye was also crucial for Nigeria during the qualification matches for the 2014 Fifa World Cup, but he was dropped from the final list that made the tournament.

In an Instagram chat with sports journalist Oma Akatugba, former Super Eagle Brown Ideye also claimed to be a victim of corruption in Nigerian football and say’s he plans to write a book about his experience.

Unknown players including Michael Uchebo and Uche Nwofor were however named in the team that went to the World Cup in Brazil by Stephen Keshi.

“Before I retire, I will write a book and pour everything out. Not going to that World Cup, God used Keshi to sideline me for the West Bromich Albion job.” he revealed

This is coming barely five days that former Super Eagles forward Chinedu Obasi has claimed that his refusal to pay bribe was responsible for his omission to the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.

Chinedu Obasi had in an Instagram chat with Kelechi Benard, lamented the ordeal, saying he was sad.

Although he was not part of the team that played the World Cup qualifiers as at that time, Obasi stated that he was offered a chance to be part of the party to Brazil if he paid bribe.
