Nigerian singer, Simisola Ogunleye popularly known as “Simi” has once again spoken out against unjust practices targeted at women in the society.
In a tweet where Simi said woke up angry after a conversation she had before bed, the ‘Duduke’ crooner ranted about how women sweat blood to be at a table yet are disrespected at that table.
She, however, maintained that women who succeed in their endeavour have to do so on their own terms.
Simi wrote; “I woke up angry today because of a conversation I had before bed.
“Women are so strong. So OBVIOUSLY strong. You sweat blood for a spot at a table that disrespects your sweat. Then you spend EVERY SINGLE DAY convincing people you belong there. And the damn table isn’t even all that.
“And when you say ‘F*ck it. My life, my rules.’ They ask why. It’s because it never ends. Nothing is ever enough. And complaining is a waste of time. This is why most of the women that STAY winning have to win on their own terms. As$-kissing is exhausting.
“Today is not the day though, I’m coming.
“If I didn’t vent, I would have stayed mad. How’s your day going?”
Candiidonline reports that Simi started her career as a gospel singer, releasing her debut studio album in 2008 titled Ogaju.
But she gained prominence in 2014 after releasing “Tiff” a song that was nominated for best alternative song at the 2015 Headies.
