Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have reportedly arrested an actor, Temitayo Phillips Ogunbusola for allegedly stabbing his neighbour to death in the Ikotun area of the state.
Ogungbusola was said to have stabbed one Oladotun Johnson Opeyemi to death during an argument over electricity bill.
CANDIIDONLINE gathered that Mr. Ogunbusola had earlier signed an undertaking to be of good behaviour in the morning of the same day.
It was gathered that the incident happened on Sunday, 17 May 2020 at No. 4, Sebil Kazeem, Cele-Egbe, Ikotun, Lagos.
According to a neighbour of the deceased and the culprit – Banjo Lateef, the argument started when the Nollywood actor was asked to pay the N21,000 electricity bill he was owing.
“I’m in charge of electricity bill for the compound and I shared the bill for April to everyone in the house and we agreed that we were going to deposit some money to avoid being disconnected.
“Temi was owing N21,500 and the neighbours suggested that his light be cut off, but I pleaded that they should allow me talk to him to see if he would deposit some money.
“I went to his apartment with another tenant, Ola, and knocked twice on his door. Temi came out in anger and bashed us for knocking on his door. He said, ‘Are you mad? Are you crazy? Are you a police officer.
“An argument ensued and they began a fight during which Phillips stabbed Johnson who later died after loosing much blood.” He said.
The Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Bala Elkana when contacted said he is not aware if the suspect was an actor but confirmed that Temitayo Phillips Ogunbusola is in the police custody for investigation on an alleged murder.
