2baba Invests In Agriculture Business, Empowers 37,000 Youths In One Year


Veteran Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2baba has launched a new business in agriculture called Innobia Cooperatives Organisation (Innobia Allied Ltd).

The announcement was conveyed during a live chat with the Nigerian Stock Exchange CEO, Mr. Oscar N. Onyema, OON.

2baba stated that the agriculture business was birthed out of the desire to key into the government policy of diversification of the economy through agriculture and its ancillary businesses.

“We want to create jobs for our youths and empower our women in order to break the chain of poverty and contribute meaningfully to the economy.

Our target is to empower a minimum of 1,000 youths in each of the 36 States and the FCT by the year 2021”, he declared.

He added, “On behalf of the board and management of INNOBIA, I seek your support and partnership in our bid to achieve the ultimate objective of addressing the issues of food sufficiency and job creation for our people.


“Working in partnership with seasoned local and international agribusiness experts and concerns, Idibia commenced the INNOBIA operations months ago.

The pilot project to engage, train, and empower 10,000 women and youths in rice and soya bean production is ongoing in Benue State.

His manager, Efe Omorogbe disclosed that the business is headquartered in Nigeria and will have branches in Israel and the United Kingdom.

He also added that the singer began the Innobia operations months ago in partnership with seasoned local and international agribusiness experts.

In 2009, 2Baba was appointed as ambassador by National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control.

2baba released the song “Man Unkind” to raise awareness on the menace of fake and substandard food and drug products in Nigeria.

He was presented with the prestigious International Youth Ambassador for Peace Summit and the Nigeria Youth Merit Award by the National Youth Council of Nigeria in recognition of his contributions to youth development in Nigeria.

In January 2017, 2Baba announced a partnership with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

He made an initial donation of over US$11,000 to UNHCR for IDPs and returnees.

Recently, he was appointed a Regional Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations. by UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) to further work with the UN in providing better opportunities for internally displaced persons

2baba released a dedicated IDP-awareness song titled Hold My Hand to mark the World Refugee Day and promised 60 percent of the proceeds from the song to the IDP cause.

He has also collaborated with other NGOs like The Nigerian Red Cross Society, Enough is Enough (EiE) (Office of the Citizen campaign), Youngstars Foundation, and National Democratic Institute (for Vote Not Fight campaign).
