EbonyLife CEO and media entrepreneur, Mo Abudu has officially announced the return of the channel’s foremost legal procedural series, ‘Castle & Castle’ on Netflix in a post shared on her Instagram page.
The series, which has been renewed for its second season will reportedly be exclusive to streaming giant, Netflix as one of EbonyLife’s increasing list of commissioned projects already in the works.
Abudu excitedly wrote;
Super excited about this month of July. Such great news to share with you all. Guess what guys CASTLE & CASTLE, Nigeria’s first legal procedural series did so well, it’s getting a season 2 and it’s EXCLUSIVE TO NETFLIX. We are in development guys. It will be coming to you in 2021″.
Directed by Niyi Akinmolayan, Tope Oshin, and Kenneth Gyang, the series follows the dramatic lives of a married couple, Remi and Tega Castle both lawyers who struggle with their contrasting ideals and clientele.
It premiered back in 2018 on the production company’s streaming platform, EbonyLife On.
It has also been announced that Richard Mofe Damijo, Dakore Akande, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Daniel Etim-Effiong, Deyemi Okanlawon, Eku Edewor will return for this second season.
It is noteworthy that Nollywood is currently attracting a lot of buzz and focus as Netflix continues to spotlight indigenous movies through its Netflix Naija imprint.
Following the renewal of ‘Castle & Castle’ deal and the acquisition of movies like Sugar Rush, Merrymen, Living In Bondage, Love is War amongst a host of others, Netflix also announces “Sylvia” as one of its latest addition to the family.
Produced by Ekene Mekwunye, with Babatunwa Aderinokun and Uche Okocha as Executive Producers, the movie debuted at the Nollywood Week Paris in May 2018.
Starring Zainab Balogun, Chris Attoh, Ini Dima-Okojie, and Udoka Oyeka, the feature film written by Vanessa Kanu tells a thrilling story of a paranormal relationship between a human and his imaginary love interest.
