Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been dealt with a big blow following the latest development about his player Kostas Tsimikas contracting the deadly Coronavirus.
The Reds’ new £11.75 million signing complained of a fever while on international duty with Greece and has since been forced to self-isolate.
He hasn’t trained for the last three days and missed Greece’s Nations League fixture against Slovenia on Thursday, September 3.
Liverpool will be facing Premier League returnees Leeds United in their first game of the 2020/21 season and Kostas Tsimikas is expected to miss the encounter.
Kostas Tsimikas was bought by Liverpool as a cover up for first choice left back Andy Robertson who is expected to start against Leeds United.
Tsimikas received his first call-up to the Greek senior team for 2018–19 UEFA Nations League matches against Hungary and Finland in October.
He made his international debut in the starting eleven for the match at home to Hungary on 12 October and crossed for Kostas Mitroglou to score the only goal of the game.
