Nigerian superstar and DMW record label boss, David Adeleke better known as Davido dropped his latest single titled ‘Fem’ yesterday and it is already heading to two million views on YouTube less than 24 hours it was uploaded.
The singer dropped the new single off his upcoming album after returning to social media, since he took his leave on 3 June—14 weeks in all.
About 16 hours after the video went online, it has now garnered over 1.5 million views on YouTube.
He posted an artistic photo representing his latest single with this caption on social media.
“To the people talking about you because they don’t understand your shine, dey don’t understand your grace, dey don’t understand why they can never be what you are or have what you have…we say ‘#FEM,” he wrote.
The song became one of the major topics trending on Twitter after its released.
He studied Business Administration at Oakwood University before dropping out to make beats and record vocal references.
Davido rose to fame after releasing “Dami Duro”, the second single from his debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo (2012), from which six additional singles—”Back When”, “Ekuro”, “Overseas”, “All of You”, “Gbon Gbon”, and “Feel Alright”—were taken.
In 2012, Davido won the Next Rated award at The Headies. Between 2013 and 2015, he released the hit singles “Gobe”, “One of a Kind”, “Skelewu”, “Aye”, “Tchelete (Goodlife)”, “Naughty”, “Owo Ni Koko”, “The Sound” and “The Money”.
