Four men have raped an 11-year old girl, Miss Favour Okechukwu, to death in Ejigbo, Lagos.
They lured the girl to a room and raped her at Olarewaju Street, Ejigbo.
According to the residents, the victim returned from school and her mother sent her to go and buy a popular snack, gala, from a nearby shop in the area around 3pm.
However, she could not buy the gala because the men lured her to a room. They engaged her in marathon sex. Consequently, she became unconscious and eventually died.
The suspects fled abandoning her inside the room until when the father returned from work and started looking for her. And so, he found her in the room naked and dead.
The distraught father contacted Ejigbo Police Division over the dastardly act. So, the DPO, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi, mobilized her officers who raced to the scene. They discovered the lifeless body of the girl in the room.
Following the ugly incident, the residents fled the area including the shop owners, who were afraid of likely Police interrogation.
The police arrested and detained the owner of the room identified as Tabi, a.k.a. T. Boy, while other suspects, who allegedly committed the act escaped.
The police equally summoned some tenants for questioning over the crude act.
According to P.M.EXPRESS, the scene of the incident was cordoned off by the Police before the Lagos State DNA & Forensic Centre (LSD & FC) went there to conduct forensic analysis on the victim.
Their ambulance evacuated her corpse a mortuary for further investigation.
Many Lagosians know the area where the incident happened as a notorious slum. Several atrocities reportedly happened there in the past.
Apart from defiling small girls, the rapists don’t spare married women too.
According to residents, the criminals using the place under power line have defrauded married women and at the same time raped them including being used for drugs dealing.
Meanwhile, the Police have intensified efforts to arrest other suspects who escaped.
The official of Ejigbo LCDA, who visited the scene, expressed shock over what happened.
