Forbes has published a list of the highest-paid dead celebrities of 2020.
The listing is based totally on their pre-tax income from Oct. 1, 2019 to Oct. 1, 2020.
The King of Pop – Michael Jackson – ranked first with $48 million income in the period under review.
Recall that over the course of his 40 year career, Jackson sold well over 750 million albums.
When he died in 2009 he was reportedly worth a staggering $500 million.
Even more surprising is that the singer still earns an enormous amount of money 11 years after his death.
According to Party Casino, Jackson still earns $114.86 every minute.
The website’s research goes on to project that the pop star will ultimately earn a staggering $60m by the end of the year.
‘Leaving Neverland’ – the 2019 documentary about two boys who alleged that the King of Pop abused them sexually in this 1990s, Jackson’s Mijac Music catalog as well as his long-term deal with Sony are contributing more than 70 percent of his earnings.
The Jackson estate most likely receives most of this money, as well as the official Michael Jackson charities.
Dr. Seuss, who doubled his profits in 2020 by using a collection of television and film deals; NBA Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter accident in January but has raked-in $20 million in the last 10 months; and, Elvis Presley, who still earns well over £29 million a year – despite having been dead for 43 years.
Recently included in the list is the young rapper Juice WRLD who has earned over $15 million posthumous revenue.
Also, Charles Schulz, Arnold Palmer, Bob Marley, John Lennon, Prince, Freddie Mercury, George Harrison and Marilyn Monroe, are other stars worthy of mention.
